An intriguing opportunity to gain some insight into the culture and traditions of the region. There is no better way to absorb the spirit and soul of a country than by venturing out from your resort and mingling with local residents living there daily lives.
You will head to the outskirts of Huatulco aboard a/c vehicles to the town of Santa Maria, the areas first settlement. Along the way we’ll make stops at some local homes to observe among other traditions, the preparation of the Mexican specialties - tamales & corn tortillas – and you’ll even try your hand at making your own!!
Next is a stop at a local bakery to sample some of the savory traditional treats being baked in old-fashioned brick ovens.
In the center of Santa Maria you will have time to stroll through the small plaza & market and visit the beautiful church & town hall before returning to Huatulco with a camera full of photos. A stimulating, easy going ½ day escapade.
