The beautifully sculptured, world-class Marina Ixtapa golf course, designed by Robert Van Hagge was built in 1994 and has converted this tropical resort destination into a utopia for golfers of all levels. The golf course is located in the Marina area and is within close proximity of all the major beach front hotels.
Known for his imaginative course designs, Texan Robert Von Hagge designed the championship Marina Ixtapa course with canals meandering through it. The network of canals provide easy nautical recreation to nearby private villas and of course brings a lot of water into play—not to mention that the same canals are home to numerous crocodiles. (Fishing for your errant golf ball in the water is not recommended)
The course has been ranked by Golf Digest magazine as one of Mexico’s best with its “dunes-style” topography hence accurate tee shots and approach shots are a must to successfully navigate the rolling terrain, expansive sand traps and water hazard.
